Confera Privacy Policy Last updated: August 14, 2026 OverviewConfera (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is developed by Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC. Confera is designed to keep your conference information private. Data Information You CreateThe information you crete in Confera belongs to you. This may include conferences, sessions, notes, journal entries, audio recordings, photos, actions items, and contact information. This information is stored localled in the app’s private container on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, it may also be stored and synchronized through your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit framework. Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC does not operate its own servers for this information and does not receive copies of your recordings, notes, photos, contacts, or conference data. Audio Recordings Audio recordings are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. When iCloud synchronization is enabled, recordings are also stored in the app’s dedicated iCloud container, which is accessible only to Confera and controlled by your Apple ID. Raw audio files are never transmitted to Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC, or any external server. TranscriptsWhen you record a session, Confera transcribes the audio on your device. The text transcript is stored alongside your session data in the app’s private storage and, when iCloud synchronization is enabled, in your iCloud container. The transcript text may be processed by AI in the following ways: - On-device (Apple Intelligence): The full transcript is processed locally on your device. Nothing leaves your device. - External AI provider (if enabled): When you request a session brief, the text transcript is sent to your selected external provider along with the session title, speaker, name, company, and any attendee goals you entered. When you request a conference brief, only compact per-session summaries are sent, not the full transcripts. When you use AI search, only your search query is sent; transcript content is not included. Confera does not store, read, or transmit your transcripts to Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC for any purpose. ContactsContacts you add to Confera are stored only within the app and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud account. Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC does not receive or have access to this information. Confera Pro subscribers can choose to import a contact from the system Contacts app or save a Confera contact to it. This happens only when you select “Import from Contacts” or “Save to Contacts.” Confera never accesses or changes your system contacts automatically. When importing a contact, Confera uses Apple’s system-provided contact picker. The app does not receive access to your full contact list. It receives only the contact you select. Apple Intelligence Apple Intelligence is the default option. Processing takes place on your device using Apple’s on-device models. Confera does not send your session information to Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC, for this processing. External AI ProvidersYou may optionally connect Confera to a supported provider, such as OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), or Google Gemini. If you enable an external provider, you must supply your own API key. When you use an AI feature with an external provider, Confera sends your search query or relevant session text to the provider you selected so it can generate the requested content. Your API key is stored securely in the system Keychain on your device. Your API key is not sent to Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC. The external provider processes submitted information under its own terms and privacy policy. Before enabling an external provider, please review that provider’s privacy policy and data-retention practices. Conference DirectoryConfera’s conference directory displays publicly available event listings from Ticketmaster. You do not need a Confera account to browse the directory. Confera does not send your notes, recordings, contacts, or other personal conference information to Ticketmaster when you use this feature. Ticketmaster may process technical information when their contact or services are accessed. Their own privacy policies govern that processing. Subscriptions and Purchases Apple processes Confera Pro subscriptions through the App Store. Dobbins Innovation Labs, LLC does not receive or store your payment card or banking information. Apple’s privacy policy governs the processing of App Store purchases. We may receive transaction-related information from Apple, such as whether a subscription is active, when needed to provide Confera Pro features. Device Permissions Confera may ask for permission to use certain features on your device. For the microphone, used to record session audio. Camera, used to take session photos and scan business cards. Contacts (optional) - Confera requests access only when a Confera Pro subscriber chooses to save a conference contact to the system Contacts app. Importing a contact uses Apple’s system-provided picker and does not require access to your full contact list. Notifications are used with your permission for session reminders and follow-up alerts. Photo Library is used only when you choose to save or export a photo. Confera requests permission when you use a feature that requires it. You can review or revoke permissions at any time in your device’s Settings. If you revoke a permission, the related feature may no longer work. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking Confera does not include third-party advertising trackers or analytic SDKs. We do not use Confera to track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information. Apple may collect App Store information, diagnostic data, and aggregated usage metrics under Apple’s own policies. Depending on your device and privacy settings, Apple may provide developers with limited diagnostic or aggregated information. This information does not include the contents of your recordings, notes, photos, or contacts. LocationIf you grant location permission, Confera records the GPS coordinates of the device when you save a capture or voice note, and converts those coordinates into a human-readable place name (e.g., “San Francisco, CA”) using Apple’s on-device geocoding. This location data is stored locally in the app and synced to your private iCloud account alongside your other conference data. It is never transmitted to Confera’s servers or shared with third parties. Location permission is optional; you can deny or revoke it at any time in iOS Settings without affecting other app features. Children’s PrivacyConfera is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
